Activities: No local guides operate from Sano Nggoang. Guide services should be organized before your departure from Labuan Bajo. Remarkably simple and untouched by modern life, the lake area offers the following experiences for eco tourism visitors:
How to get there:
The recommended means of visiting the lake is in the company of a local driver and guide.
Directions If you’re traveling by local transport, it is recommended that you take an Ojek (motorbike taxi) in Werang for the remaining distance to the lake. Please note that local buses do not operate with fixed schedules.
Those seeking exercise should hike the 16.5 km from Werang to the lake. This
is a picturesque trek taking about three to five hours from Werang to the village of
Nunang at the lake, with the path passing small local communities along the
way.
Facilities Please note that there are little or no tourism facilities to be found in the area of Sano Nggoang. There are no restaurants or accommodations in operation. Information on local attractions and, perhaps, accommodation options can be obtained from the Catholic priest at Nunang. Numbered among the highlights of this area are numerous local trails for hiking and visits to the village of Nunang. Local guides in Labuan Bajo are familiar with this area, seldom visited due to the poor road conditions.
If you are undertaking a two-day trip to the lake, including a stop at the Cunca Rami waterfall is highly recommended. From Werang it takes you more or less one hour to walk to the Cunca Rami waterfall. For More Information Waterfall Cunca Rami |
